Is Aamir Khan overrated? #AamirKhan

Aamir Khan is denoted as one of the most versatile actors in #bollywood along with Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, but his movie returns money to production home. He is the only actor, who can connect to both audiences and critics. I am one of many who go to watch his movie in first week of release, but after watching PK (it is a good movie, but not as good as OMG) and skipping Dhoom 3, I started thinking whether he is really that good or he is just overrated because, he does less films, or/and he doesn’t go to to award (Indian) functions, talks sense, talks about social causes (research that, mostly before his film release) and many other factor.

Confusion grows when I opened the list of movies he has done. I filtered them and brought with a list of AK movies, divided in three section good, bad and average. The ratings I have given is based on my perception and also sometimes based on IMDB ratings, you can always agree to disagree.

Good Films By AK Bad Films By AK Average Films by AK
Dhobi Ghat Dhoom 3 PK
3 Idiots Mela Talaash: The Answer Lies Within
Taare Zameen Par Mann Ghajini
Fanaa Raja Hindustani Mangal Pandey: The Rising
Rang De Basanti Aatank Hi Aatank Ghulam
Dil Chahta Hai Parampara Akele Hum Akele Tum
Lagaan Daulat Ki Jung Rangeela
Sarfarosh Isi Ka Naam Zindagi Baazi
Earth Afsana Pyaar Ka Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke
Andaz Apna Apna Jawani Zindabad Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin
Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin Dil
Holi Tum Mere Ho Raakh
Awwal Number Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
Love Love Love

Look at the above table, his acting career started in 1984, but till 1998 he never acted in a so called non commercial film or a film which makes difference but Holi.  He first took risk to act in a non commercial film in 1998 (Earth). In between Holi and Earth I can see only two films, which we can put under good category is JJWS and AAA. If you count the numbers, the total number of good films he did is just less than 1/3rd of total number of films he did, with this statistics why can’t we call him #overrated?
